Message from our

President

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the European Association of Fellows in Wound Healing (EAFWH), I am pleased to invite you to participate in the 3rd International Course of Wound Healing, an advanced educational program dedicated to physicians from multiple specialties with a professional interest in wound care.

Wound healing is an inherently interdisciplinary field, involving dermatologists, vascular surgeons, endocrinologists, general practitioners, internists, and many other specialists. With the increasing prevalence of chronic wounds related to diabetes, vascular disease, and aging populations, there is a growing need for structured, evidence-based education that supports high-quality, patient-centered care.

The EAFWH is committed to promoting excellence in wound management through education and collaboration. The International Course of Wound Healing is developed in accordance with the UEMS Wound Healing Curriculum, ensuring alignment with European standards for postgraduate medical education.

The 3rd edition of the Course will feature an international faculty of recognized experts as Kirsi Isoherranen (Finland), Elena Conde (Spain), Valentina Dini (Italy), George Tiplica (Romania) and will offer a comprehensive program combining lectures (including a virtual session), case-based discussions, and interactive sessions with hands-on demonstrations that will take place this year in Madrid, Spain. Key topics include wound pathophysiology, diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, infection management, vascular assessment, diabetic foot care, advanced wound therapies, and multidisciplinary approaches to complex cases. The focus remains on practical applicability and integration of evidence-based guidelines into daily clinical practice.

In addition to its scientific content, the course provides an excellent platform for professional exchange and networking with colleagues from across Europe and beyond, fostering collaboration within a growing community dedicated to improving outcomes in wound care.

We warmly encourage you to join us for this important educational initiative and to contribute to advancing standards of care in wound healing.

With kind regards,
Prof. George Sorin Tiplica, MD, PhD, FEAFWH, FRCP
